Modern: Aggro decks dominate diverse metagame

Modern's in a pretty good spot, according to the numbers, with a Final Health Index of 69.7. The word is the format is self-correcting through player innovation, so it should remain engaging.

Diversity is solid with a score of 74.8, though lower than some previous years. Archetype Distribution is great at 94.0. Event Growth is a decent 85.7, but Player Growth is struggling at 24.8. The B&R Health Score is a respectable 80.0 after no changes to the banlist were necessary.

Boros Aggro and Death and Taxes are the frontrunners, with 14.2% and 13% of the metagame respectively. Affinity is still hanging in there at 7%. After that there is a steep dropoff, with 4/5c Aggro at 6% and then UR Aggro at only 3%. Aggro continues to dominate, making up almost half the meta (48.8%).

On Reddit, Rakdos Evoke decks, and Grief and Fury in particular, are still hot topics with players debating their impact on the format. Orcish Bowmasters is another card drawing both praise and complaints. Amulet Titan is making a comeback too. The recent B&R announcement did not change the format.
