Pauper: Format healthy with diverse decks
Analysis from July 28, 2025

Pauper's doing pretty well overall! We're seeing a healthy mix of decks, and player interest is definitely on the upswing. It feels pretty stable, though folks are always looking for that next edge.

The key health scores are solid. A diversity score of 77.6 and an Archetype Distribution Score of 89.1 show a good spread of viable decks. Player growth is great, especially online (9% monthly!), with event growth also positive. The B&R Health Score of 70 indicates some potential concerns that have been discussed.

Right now, Mono Blue Aggro is the deck to beat at 13%. Jund, Burn, and Red Deck Wins are close behind, making up a good chunk of the meta. Affinity is still kicking around, along with Mono Green Aggro and Elves. Aggro strategies are still dominating, with almost 66% of the meta share. Compared to historical data, Control has dipped and Combo is on the rise.

The Reddit threads are all about the dominance of decks like Mono-Blue Faeries and Affinity, but players are trying to shake things up. There's a focus on graveyard strategies using Reanimate effects. Tolarian Terror continues to be a hot topic. The postponement of a decision on High Tide suggests a cautious approach to that strategy, but overall the lack of changes reflects confidence in the format's health.
